BCDC is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the District of Columbia governed by a Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of parent representatives, a staff representative and the Center Director.

Dana Hedgpeth | Board Chair
Dana Hedgpeth became the BCDC board chair in early 2017. She is the mother of a BCDC Rainbow Fish student and kindergarten student at Murch Elementary School. Dana is a longtime journalist in Washington, D.C. In addition to enjoying time with her children, Dana volunteers at Murch and teaches Sunday school at her church.
Kim Mohler | Executive Director
Kim Mohler joined BCDC as the Executive Director in January of 2016. She has worked in the field of early childhood education for the past 42 years, with the majority of her time spent in programs in the Bethesda/Chevy Chase area. She has administered programs serving children from infancy – twelve years old. Kim believes that children learn best through play and having hands on opportunities to explore and express their creativity while developing at a pace that is comfortable for each child. Kim is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Recreation-Program Planning for Preschool & Elementary. Kim lives in Silver Spring with her husband, John. In her free time, Kim enjoys photography, traveling, time outdoors and spending time with family. She and her husband have two daughters who are both educators, and Kim is thoroughly enjoying her newest role as “Grandma”.
Jim Ridgway | Business Manager
Jim Ridgway joined BCDC in 2006 to lead the financial and operations management of the Center. Over his fifty years in business, he has held lead managerial positions in several nonprofits, including controller for a nonprofit association, and is an expert on insurance, human relations, and accounting practices. He has a BCS in Accountancy and Finance from Benjamin Franklin University. Jim is an active member of the community which includes 35 years as a youth sports coach. He is a founder and leader of his church’s teen youth program and has served on the boards of the Upper Montgomery Athletic Club, Montgomery County Baseball Association, and St. Rosa of Lima Church. Jim is the proud father of three sons and five grandchildren.
Ravion Wynn | Assistant Director
Ravion Wynn is the BCDC Assistant Director. For over 20 years she has served the BCDC community in several positions, starting as a preschool teacher and was promoted as Assistant Director in 2012. Ravion has spent her career playing a positive role in lives of young people and early childhood educators. She loves helping children and watching them grow. Born and raised in Washington, DC, Ravion is a graduate of The University of the District of Columbia with an Associates in Arts in Child Development. In her spare time, she loves spending time with my son and extended family.
